WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2022

The theme of this year’s World Environment Day (Only One Earth) resonate on all trajectory of environmental discusses as it goes to the root of our existence as living beings and key role players in biodiversity ecosystem.

Ensuring that all hands are on deck to restore and protect earth’s sanity became the focus on Friday, 17th, June, 2022, during this year’s reception for the winners of #emendwedcompetition2022 in commemoration of World Environment Day 2022.

It was a great delight to have key players in recycling, waste management, sustainable farming, environmental CSOS, government agencies, and a large youth audience interact with one another.

Sustainable features: the planners of the event went to extra miles to walk the talk through reduction in the use of single use materials such as plastics, papers to the barest minimum. Notices of invite as much as possible were through softcopies, there were no hardcopy brochures, foods were served in reusable and or biodegradable/environment friendly materials (even though this was more costly). The host of the reception @WorldliliesEventPlace Ibadan spared no expenses in ensuring maximum compliance with sustainable environment practices. Also the EMENT Team took special care to source for consolidation non cash prizes with minimum carbon footprint such as Solar Home Solution, Bicycles and so on.
